Joanna Briggs Collaboration

RDNS, as part of Silver Chain Group, is proud to have collaborated with the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) to develop the Australian Centre for Evidence Based Primary Health Care. We join an international network of 74 Centres striving to create evidence based standards in health care.

Currently, our Centre has more than 30 national and international clinical experts who have experience in the complex community health setting.  These experts (some of whom are Silver Chain Group clinicians) review all evidence related to specific topics of community health care practice. This ensures the clinicians practice according to the best available research and variations in practice are minimised.

Working closely with the Nursing Practice Committees, expert clinical advice is gathered and analysed on issues relating to policy development and policy gap risks. Solutions and recommendations to enhance policy content are also offered by the Centre.  A number of clinical risks have been identified through the process of critical review of evidence and these have been discussed at both state-based Nurses Practice meetings and the national Clinical Governance meeting, where a direction to proceed and reduce risks for the organisation has been agreed and actioned.
