In 2014, against the backdrop of significant changes to the aged care sector, we took the opportunity to review our aged care strategy to ensure our services will continue to be relevant and impactful for all older Australians and their changing needs.
Ageing Well refers to the way we want to think about ageing, including the way we design and provide our services. We want to maximise our impact on individuals, the community and care system by delivering high value services and contributing to national policy development.
We believe that the best way for us to provide the most value to clients is by becoming a leader in integrated care, bringing together our health and ageing services centred on the client. We will do this by building on our strengths and ensuring our clients benefit from our:
- Experience and expertise in an enablement and wellness approach to services
- Complex and acute health care in the community
- Wide range of services
- Strong culture of care and an innate desire for our clients to achieve their best lives.
The first step in our Ageing Well journey is to ensure we successfully implement Consumer Directed Care for Commonwealth Home Support Packages across our organisation, enabling our clients to choose the types of care and services they access to meet their goals and needs.
