Queensland's commitment to quality

Following and organisational wide survey by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) against the EQuIPNational Standards, all Silver Chain Queensland centres and services have received full accreditation.

Silver Chain General Manager, East Coast, Clark Chambers, said EQuIPNational is a four-year accreditation program for health services that ensures a continued focus on quality and safety across an organisation.

“Silver Chain Queensland is the first within the Silver Chain Group to be surveyed against the EQuIPNational Standards and we are really pleased to have achieved accreditation,” Clark said.

During the survey, an independent team of expert health professionals visited each centre to review the quality and safety of Silver Chain’s services. Silver Chain Queensland was measured against nine overarching standards and many different criteria including medication safety, recognising and responding to clinical deterioration in acute health care, infection control, complaints management and preventing falls.

“Feedback from ACHS acknowledged Silver Chain’s commitment to continually improving performance and ensuring that safety and quality has a high profile in all decision making processes,” Clark explained.

“ACHS commended our strong commitment to providing evidence-based practices and delivering them in the most effective way. During home visits surveyors were impressed with the care provided and the level of positive feedback.

“We are delighted with the feedback as it recognises our commitment to quality and safety and delivering the highest standard of service to our clients. We look forward to continually improving our services in line with ACHS’ final report.”
