Year in review - Social Care

Social Care is a newly created division of Silver Chain Group, bringing all aged care services in both metropolitan Perth and regional Western Australia together into one team. This year, our dedicated staff helped more than 16,000 clients continue to live independently at home, through more than 1 million hours of care.

Bringing our aged care services together under the Social Care division has allowed us to focus our preparation for significant changes to the aged care sector, in particular the transfer of Home Care Package funding from providers to consumers in February 2017.

As consumers have more choice and control over when and how they receive their services and at what price, we need to use this opportunity to position ourselves as the aged care provider of choice in Western Australia.

We are uniquely positioned to care for our clients all the way through their ageing journey in their homes with our combination of health and aged care services. A focus in the next year will be on making sure all our services are integrated in such a way that makes it seamless for the client and provides the best care and customer service.  

More consumer choice means ensuring new clients choose Silver Chain and our existing clients stay with us. We have already seen increased marketing activity from other aged care providers and we expect this to increase in the lead up to February 2017. We need to make sure we are well positioned in the minds of our existing and potentially future clients. Part of this is working in partnership with our clients to tailor and add to our service offering. We will regularly seek their feedback and insights on how we can improve.

The changing aged care sector provides a great deal of opportunity for Silver Chain. We look forward to offering our clients even more choice and control so they can continue to live their best lives - at home.
